OVERVIEW

Richard E. Decker is an associate at McCloskey, Waring & Drury LLP.  His practice focuses on advising and assisting insurance companies with respect to coverage issues involving all aspects of general claims handling and resolution, including the investigation and analysis of claims, defense and indemnity obligations, and extra-contractual exposures for complex environmental, construction, advertising injury, and other matters. Mr. Decker also represents insurance companies in litigated matters involving all aspects of coverage, including bad faith. 

 

Originally from Newport Beach, Mr. Decker received his B.S., magna cum laude, in Construction Management from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law.  In law school, Mr. Decker externed with the Honorable Joan Irion, in the California Court of Appeal, 4th District, Division 1, the Honorable Marilyn Huff, in the Southern District of California, and served as Editor-in-Chief of California Business Practice.  Mr. Decker recently relocated to Colorado and when he is not assisting his clients, he enjoys watching all sports, skiing, and spending time with his fiancé and their two dogs.
